Most people are great about determining the general color they want for their walls. However, it can be a bit of a challenge to envision the exact color or how it will work with the furniture, décor, ect already existing within the space. There are some paint colors that people love that look great on walls. However, there are the colors that would look best on the décor used within the home.
Let’s talk about ten of the most popular paint colors!
Blue is a very calming and relaxing color. A lighter tone of blue is great to use in a bedroom or bathroom where relaxing is needed most.
Green in a kitchen is great! Matching greens with creamy whites looks charming and also welcoming. It really adds warmth to the space.
Reds can be tricky. If a red on the walls is wanted, it is best to chose only one or two walls to paint red. This creates a nice accent wall(s) without it being too much or overwhelming. If you desire more red in the space, try adding some red décor and/or rugs. Just be careful that the red colors don’t clash!
Yellow can also be a tricky color to correctly choose. Yellow is always much brighter on the wall, therefore it’s important to chose a yellow that looks almost beige. This will give you the yellow color you desire without being far too much yellow in the space. Try pairing it with freshly picked daises to really create an energetic space.
Browns are a great choice! They are very warm and inviting but also work great with greens, reds, and other neutral shades. It can be paired with many colors to create a beautiful space!
A soft gray with beige undertones are perfect for those who want the grey color without it being too “cold or uninviting”. This will still give you the modern feel of grey but also add a welcoming sense as well.
Beige is overall a great choice. It works well with any décor, furniture, ect. However, it can leave the space feeling non personal. Try mixing it up with some bright pops of color! Soft beige is gorgeous and classical! It looks amazing with a white trim.
Pink, now pink is a color that many do not think of when determining the color of their home (unless of course for a nursery or child’s room) but lets consider it. It can be very sophisticated in the right tone and can create a beautiful accent wall.
White and creamy whites are beautiful and create a clean feeling within the space. Pure whites are great for cabinets and trim. Creamy whites are a bit softer and can create an inviting feel within the space.
Black is relatively new trend when it comes to paint colors. It can create a very dramatic room and contrasting it with white trim and colorful décor and rugs can really create a one of kind room!
