Whether you are a mom or a mom to be, a creative aunt, or someone who wants to just know more about nursery ideas, this article will give you some need to knows about really making a nursery one of a kind and really shine!
In recent times there seems to have been a “baby boom” which makes nursery decorating a hot topic. When searching for nursery ideas, themes are everywhere. In fact, they are what pop up the most. If you are a theme person and want your nursery to be the same, go for it! However, really thinking outside the box and creating your one of a kind nursery will make a space you are truly proud of. Many people these days are taking the theme to a whole new level, making everything match, from the décor to the clothing. This can be very expensive and not really show the uniqueness of your taste and how truly unique your baby is to the world. Let me tell you right now, there is no “right way” when making the perfect space for your baby. This is your nursery and somewhere perfectly perfect for only your baby.
A great design starts from the perfect color. What works best for your taste? What works best to coordinate with the rest of your home? Popular and successful colors I have found are; grays, blues, greens and yellows for a boy. These colors, depending on the tone of the hue, can be fun and exciting or laid back and relaxing. Even mixing the two effects can create a new and fun one of a kind theme in the nursery.
When it comes to color and a baby girl’s nursery; grays, creamy whites, mustard, of course some pink can really create a one of kind and beautiful nursery. Mixing pinks with grays adds elegance to the room which can be perfect for the perfect little princess. Throwing in pops of color such as mustard can add to the unique factor as well. Creamy whites are beautiful, this can also add to an elegance factor within the space.
If keeping the walls a nice neutral color is in your plan, fun colors can be added with the décor. Picture frames are a perfect way to do this. Painting them fun colors on neutral walls create a beautiful and unique element to the space while creating a fun aspect. Also, using something as simple as washi tape, the nursery can be completely transformed. Other décor should be added to follow in line with the specific colors that you have chosen for the space but don’t be afraid to mix colors, sometimes the more variety the better but be careful not to let them clash! Layered rugs can also add something really special to the space.
Creating softness to the space is something that is necessary for a nursery. One way this can be achieved is through twinkle lighting, which are strands of lighting with tiny lights on them. They add a soft light to the space and are best to be used under shelves near the crib.
No matter what you chose to with the nursery remember that this is your nursery and the nursery in which your baby will grow so do it for you! It will be perfect if it is truly your own! Below are a couple of images of creative nurseries for a bit of inspiration.
